As you learn what God's answers in life are, you are becoming aware of the fact that God's love is not in you if you love pleasure or material things. Or if you love yourself more than you love God. Or other people. But don't be discouraged. The bible says in Romans 3:23 ..."For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;" We have all come short of the glory of God. You see the most glorious thing about God is His love. His selfless, self sacrificing love. And we have all come short of that. We are all sinners. We all love ourselves far too much. The bible goes on to say in Romans 6:23.. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The first part of this verse is pretty scary, "The wages of sin is death...". The kind of death were talking about here is eternal death. Eternal separation from Him who is the source of all life. Eternally condemned to an existence where there is no love, no life, no joy, no laughter. Only pain. And if we are all sinners because we have all fallen short of loving as God loves, then we are all damned and condemned! "But.....the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord." |
OH! Thank God that He doesn't leave us condemned. Thank God that He is indeed a God of love. And though we are all sinners, selfish and unloving the bible says in Romans 5:8..."But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.". |
Believe that Jesus was crucified so that you would not have to be condemned and believe that He has risen from the dead and is right now at the right hand of God waiting on you to call out to Him for mercy.
The bible says in Romans 10:9...
"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
The word Lord means owner. Just as a landlord owns the land or house, to confess Jesus as your Lord is to surrender yourself to Him and say that He owns you.
Surrender your life to Him today! Call out to Him, with all your Heart, believing that He hears you. Confess to Him that you are a sinner, that you do not love as He loves. Ask Him to give you a new heart a new life and He will fill you with His love and His life.
The bible says in Romans 10:13..
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved".
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28..
"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
If you want that precious gift of eternal life, make Jesus your savior today! |
